In this video, we're going to walk through how to start bringing in LinkedIn saved posts into your Dewey account. You'll see here I'm on the Dewey dashboard, where you have your main feed of all your bookmarks. If you didn't notice in this latest design, we now show which social network the bookmark is coming from. You'll see here it says X.com. Until now, we've only offered Twitter or X.com and Blue Sky, but starting today, we are now offering LinkedIn as well. In the future, we'll be adding more social networks, but for the purposes of this video, I'm going to walk you through how to make sure that you can bring in your LinkedIn saved posts—your bookmarks from LinkedIn—into Dewey.
The first thing you want to do is make sure that you have the Dewey Chrome extension installed. When you go to LinkedIn, you'll now see on the bottom left side of the main homepage something that says "Saved Posts." This is Dewey's button that is overlaying on top of your LinkedIn page because, frankly, LinkedIn makes it very difficult to find your saved posts. So we added this button to make it a breeze to go into posts that you've saved.
Now, if you're unfamiliar with how to save a LinkedIn post, we've added a button for that as well. You don't need to use this button—LinkedIn has a native "Saved Posts" feature. It's just difficult to find, and if you've never played around with it before, it might not be intuitive. Basically, these three dots introduce a bunch of different options. One of them is to save the post. You can do that from here, or you can just click the new button that Dewey is overlaying on the post itself.
So let's go ahead and do that. Then, if I want to go and look at my saved posts, I click that button, and it will take me to "linkedin.com/myitems/savedposts." This is where all of my saved posts live—these are all the LinkedIn posts or LinkedIn content pieces that I've saved or bookmarked.
Now, the next thing you'll notice is this little button on the bottom that says "Grab Posts." Again, this is a Dewey button that we're overlaying on top of your LinkedIn experience. You will not see this if you don't have the Chrome extension installed, but with the Chrome extension installed, you now see this button. Just go ahead and click it. That'll start the Grabber, and Dewey will grab all of the content that's in your LinkedIn saved posts and bring it over into your Dewey dashboard.
We'll give that a second to run, and when it reaches the end, it'll say, "X number of posts brought into Dewey." Now, if we go into Dewey and I refresh the page, I will now see my LinkedIn posts, which I can see here on the bottom. It now says LinkedIn.com as opposed to X.com, and all of those bookmarks are now showing up in Dewey.
In another video, I'll walk you through how to filter these results out and how to search for only LinkedIn posts to make your organization and viewing experience on Dewey much faster.
