Sync Reddit Saved Posts

How to sync your Reddit Saved Posts with Dewey

Transcript:

In this video I'm going to walk you through how to use Dewey to bring in all of your Reddit saved posts. I'm going to assume you already have Dewey's Chrome browser extension installed. If you don't, go ahead and do that first.

Once installed, go to your profile settings and then Integrations. You'll see a new option that says "Automatically sync Reddit saved bookmarks." This is enabled by default - you don't have to do anything here unless you want to disable it.

Let's go into my Reddit profile to show you how this works. First, I'll demonstrate how to find your saved posts (which can be tricky to locate), then how to make sure they're pulling into Dewey correctly.

I'll start by saving some posts. Click the three dots in the top right corner and select "Save." Like many users, you've probably saved posts going back years - that's fine. I'll add a few more now.

You'll notice a confirmation message saying "Post added to Dewey" - this shows it's working. Now let's find the actual saved posts section. It's not obvious - you need to go to your profile, then click "Saved" (not in the top right menu). Here you'll see all your saved posts, which might go back years.

At the bottom you'll see a "Grab saved posts" button. This lets you manually sync, though it happens automatically if you have the browser extension. For this demo, I'll click it to confirm it's working - it shows "5 bookmarks imported."

Back in Dewey, I can find my Reddit posts by:
1. Using the sources filter on the left and selecting Reddit
2. Looking under Accounts for my Reddit account

Using the sources filter is quicker. You'll see all posts have been pulled in from Reddit. As you save more posts on Reddit, Dewey will continue adding them automatically.

Currently these are all unsorted. You can:
- Add tags
- Put them in specific folders
- Create new folders
(We have separate videos showing these features)

Now you can:
1. Backup and sync all Reddit saved posts
2. Search them using Dewey's search
3. Organize with folders and tags
4. Export them in multiple formats (CSV, PDF, Markdown)
5. Export to Google Sheets or Notion
6. Extract media files (videos/images) from posts

We have videos covering all these export options. Hopefully this tutorial was helpful - it should be simple to start pulling in your Reddit saved posts. If you need help, just rewind and review the steps. Enjoy!
